

Homemade Apple Cinnamon Pop-TartsĪpple Cinnamon is perfectly timed for the fall. I use it for everything including my Lemon Meringue Pie and all of my Holiday Pies, like Pecan, Pumpkin and Apple. This is my go-to pie crust that also freezes well so keep a stash in the freezer for when you are busy. It is easy to make by hand and yields you a lovely, buttery and flakey pastry. The pastry I use is my master recipe for pie crust (aka shortcrust pastry). Homemade Pop-Tarts are baking at its simplest. I have had great success making Homemade Oreo Cookies, which are just like the real thing if not better, Homemade Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, Homemade Disneyland Dole Whip, and now Pop-Tarts I learned you can pretty much recreate any of your favorite foods, you just need the right recipe. That makes me really happy to see and that’s the goal of my recipes. I first made Homemade Pop-Tarts a few months ago with classic flavors such as Strawberry, Brown Sugar & Cinnamon and Chocolate Fudge. The response was huge! Place chopped apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice/zest into a medium saucepan and cook over medium-high for several minutes, until apples begin to release juices and become tender. Once the pop-tarts are done baking, allow them to cool until warm.If the icing is too thick to spread, add a tiny bit more milk until it reaches your desired consistency. While the pop tarts are baking, make the cinnamon icing by mixing the Purecane™ Confectioners Sweetener, vanilla, almond or oat milk, and cinnamon together.Continue to bake the remaining pop tarts until you've used all the dough. Option to broil for 1 to 2 minutes at the end to give them more color. Bake the pop tarts in the oven for 15 minutes.Use a pastry brush to brush the tops of each of the pop tarts with melted butter. Pierce each of the pop-tarts once or twice with the fork to create air holes. Repeat this step until the baking sheet is full.Place the other rectangle of dough on top and use a fork to press down around the edges and seal the pop-tarts. Add 1 tablespoon of the apple cinnamon filling in the center of the dough. Place one of the rectangles onto the lined baking sheet. Place two of the rectangles onto the floured surface and lightly roll them until they are about ¼ inch thick.Melt 1 to 2 tablespoons of vegan butter or unsalted butter in a small bowl and set aside.Use a knife to slice the dough into 24 squares or rectangles and set them aside. Use a floured rolling pin to roll the dough into a rectangle.

If you are using gluten free flour, add 2 tablespoons of milk of choice to the dough and use your hands to work it in. The flavor will be available in an 8-count box for an SRP of 3. Add the regular or gluten-free flour and mix until a dough forms. Apple Jacks Frosted Apple Cinnamon Flavor Pop-Tarts will begin hitting shelves in March, with a full nationwide rollout in April.
